BACKGROUND:

In accordance with IECRE OD-500:2016, OD-550-1:2016, and OD-550-2:2016, the Executive Secretary of the IECRE recommends approval, by the WE-OMC Member Bodies, of China General Certification Center (CGC) as RECB within the IECRE System. See the certification body assessment report distributed separately as
WE-OMC/161/IAR.

The Executive Secretary has reviewed the requirements for acceptance of the RECB for Type Certification during the transition period and has found that the above entity meets the procedural requirements and hereby submits the Summary Assessment Report, approved by the peer assessment team with a recommendation for approval as a RECB, for consideration and approval by the WE-OMC membership. If approved by the WE-OMC Member Bodies, and as per the rules, the REMC will be requested to ratify the decision. However, the RECB may begin operating as an accepted IECRE certification body (RECB), up to and including the issuance of IECRE Certificates for Type Certification.

ACTION:
WE-OMC Member Bodies to approve China General Certification Center (CGC) as an RECB within the IECRE System, for its identified scope. WE-OMC Member Bodies are requested to vote on the approval no later than 2017-04-12.

NOTE: USNC/IECRE ballots must be submitted by 2017-04-05
