Background:

At the most recent WE-OMC meeting in Pretoria, the WE-OMC meeting made the following decision:

Decision 10/2019: WE-OMC requests that the REMC task WG 10 to prioritize their work since from WE-OMC point of view, the development of ODs for grid code compliance is an urgent need and should have priority.

As per the discussion at the OMC meeting, the further development of certification of grid models is both important and urgent. The standards for the model development, the testing and the model validation exist. What is missing is the OD(s) that would allow certification according to these standards under WE-OMC.

The discussion and alignment with ENTSO-E is also of key importance, but the WE-OMC requests that we in parallel also work on the practical side of the implementation.

As WG10 is an REMC working group, the WE-OMC requests the REMC to confirm to request WG010 to work on the ODs to enable certification in this area.

Action:

REMC Member Bodies to make the decision as indicated below, effective immediately. Ballots are to be returned to the IECRE Secretariat (secretariat@iecre.org) no later than 2019-08-12.

NOTE: USNC/IECRE ballots are to be submitted within two weeks to allow for resolution of any comments prior to the IEC deadline.
