Background:
Over the last year we have had a significant discussion how to solve the IECRE budget issue and
get the system up to speed. In May 2018 we put a budget together that will solve the problems
and work is ongoing to make that budget also happen in reality.
From the RETL side we have seen some significant investments early on (2016) and because the
business within the IECRE system has been very low, these investments have not been earned
back yet.
In that light requesting these labs to undergo a re-assessment in 2019 may be too big of a
(financial) burden, and hence the WE-OMC Chair submits this proposal to the WE-OMC.

Action:
WE-OMC to confirm a once-off extension of the acceptance period of RETLs assessed in 2016
from 3 to 4 years).
