CV of Mr. Jens Demtröder, convener for JWG 1

Jens holds a master degree in mechanical and automotive engineering from the university of Bochum in Germany. He brings 25 years of experience in specification, design, manufacture, quality assurance, operation, maintenance, failure analysis and continuous improvement of wind turbine gearboxes.
Having worked for a German gearbox supplier to the wind industry as well as for leading wind turbine OEMs, he understands the business from both perspectives. Today, Jens works as Chief Engineer for Vestas Wind Systems A/S in Aarhus, Denmark.
Jens serves on various national and international standardization committees, as well as he is engaged in research projects related to wind turbine transmissions. Being actively involved in the development of ANSI/AGMA/AWEA 6006-A03, and later on led the transformation of that national standard into IEC 61400-4 as the convener of JWG1.
